CBC NewsThinh NguyenA bike shop owner in Charlottetown says he’s seeing more modified e-bikes come through his doors — some altered to go faster than the legal limit — and he’s warning riders they may be putting themselves at risk.
On P.E.I., power-assisted bicycles must have a maximum speed of 32 km/h. But Brett Doyle, owner of Outer Limit Sports, said he’s seen riders modify their e-bikes to go beyond that.
Once an e-bike exceeds those requirements, Doyle said, it may no longer be considered a bicycle.
