Prince County woman dies in head-on collision in Hampshire, P.E.I., police say

A Prince County woman is dead after a head-on collision Sunday in central Prince Edward Island, police say.

Queens District RCMP said in a news release that the crash happened at around 5 p.m. on Route 9, the Colville Road, in Hampshire and involved an SUV and a pickup truck.

RCMP said it appears the SUV crossed the centre line and collided with the truck.

The 47-year-old driver of the SUV was pronounced dead while being transported to hospital.
