RCMP have called off the search for a possible missing boater in the waters of Egmont Bay following a two-day search, saying they have found no evidence anyone was ever in trouble.

"A search of the waterways as well as surrounding land did not yield a boat, a boater, a truck or trailer," said Cpl. Gavin Moore, media relations officer for the P.E.I. RCMP.

"To date, there has not been a reported missing person from P.E.I. or New Brunswick, and as of today, Monday, the search efforts were ceased."
