Charlottetown skate park getting $100K upgrade, its biggest in more than 20 years

Charlottetown’s skate park in Victoria Park is getting a $100,000 upgrade this summer, its biggest overhaul since it opened more than 20 years ago.

The park hasn’t seen many major changes since it was opened in 2002. It was created after a grassroots push from local youth and volunteers who wanted a dedicated place to skateboard.

Frank Quinn, the city’s manager of parks and recreation, was the city’s lead on that original project.
