The buffalo were given to the PEI govt as a gift from the Alberta govt back in the 70s. Recently the PEI govt gave the buffalo and land to the monks to maintain because the govt couldn't afford it anymore. Now there is even one of the monks that stays with the buffalo in the barn to become closer to them. The monks are doing great work on PEI.
