Rugged, raspy, and roaring with charisma, Halifax's Ben Caplan is to folklore what smoke is to bourbon. Breaking between guitar, banjo, and piano, Caplan's stage show is almost reminiscent of a burly and bearded Freddy Mercury; a fiery and exploratory songwriter, it's the blues in his soul that makes this one act not to be missed. Caplan is set to release his sophomore album, Birds With Broken Wings this fall, which will be followed by a North American tour. Last year saw this Maritime band of gypsies touring the world and playing Glastonbury, the ECMA's, CMW, SXSW, and many more.
